How to get rid of carpenter ants?

I use ant bait traps to get rid of ants. They're available at most stores that sell household insecticides and they're fairly safe to use. The ants go inside the trap, get the bait, and take it back to the nest. Place the trap on the ant trail so the ants will find it quickly. The very next day, you'll see only a few ants or none at all. The ant bait traps made by Combat have worked better for us. We've used them for years.
