Can I swap a 4.0L v6 out of a 92 explorer into a 92 Ford Ranger with a 2.3?

I have a 1992 Ranger with a tired 2.3L engine and a good 5 speed tranny. I also have a wrecked 1992 ford explorer with a fairly fresh rebuild 4.0. ( rebuild has about 30K in it before I rolled it) I was wondering if it is possible to put that 4.0 in the ranger with the 5speed transmission? Will they match up? also the explorer is 4wd and the ranger is 2wd not sure if that makes a difference or not. the only engine swaps I have done has been on a 79 F150. I have never done this on something newer like this. Any help would be appreciated.
