Deadliest Warrior question?

Hi, I looked at the match ups for the second season and I noticed one had Vlad the Impaler and Sun Tzu? The thing is, isn't Vlad the Impaler not a warrior? He was only called the Impaler because he had those who defied him in Transylvania impaled on the stakes and actually drank their blood. Well, isn't this true, he didn't really fight? Or am I wrong with my history here?
