Sims 3 help!!!!!!!!!!?

In my sims game, (ambitions pack) it said I could grow food and then sell it at the sell 'n' swap store. I looked under buy and build mode. I could not find a vegetable plant or even a fruit tree. Besides a cherry tree, and I can't even take those cherries. Where do I get plants????
