Doing some research about Vlad the Impaler for friend?

I'd like to know the legends that turned Vlad the Impaler into Dracula. Like, he renounced his beliefs so when he was turned into Dracula, ppl say crosses hurt him, and stuff like that. My friend is adding Dracula to her Hellsing story
