Vlad III the Impaler and Saint Andrew?
There was a depiction of Saint Andrew’s Martyrdom, by an unknown Austrian painter of the 15th century, who, for reasons that are unknown, includes a portrait of Vlad III the Impaler looking on from the upper left. Is there a story behind this that anyone can explain?
